Attendees of Mashpee, Sandwich and Bourne Town Meetings this week may have found a flier on their car windshield with a message from CARAF, or County and Regional Addiction Funding. The flier asks residents to send a message "to Politicians, community leaders, and voting public to Support that you are in favor of utilizing 100 percent of the Marajuana [sic] Tax Revenue to address the Opiate Crisis and other forms of addiction!" The message came from Robert N. Preskenis, a Buzzards Bay man who has urged towns across the commonwealth to adopt a moratorium on recreational marijuana shops so that individual counties can take a regional approach to minimize the impact of recreational marijuana and to combat the opiate epidemic.
