Members of the zoning board of appeals said this week they support the concept of 30 new low-income rental units for George Fernandez Way, but they are leery about cleaving the overall property's existing permit, known as a comprehensive permit, into two parts for separate owners. The zoning board members were reacting to a proposal this week to build 30 low-income rental housing units on land off Quaker Meetinghouse Road.
